Development of a Robotics Platform for High Temperature Subterranean Applications
The primary objective of this project is to demonstrate the feasibility of robotic access to active coal mine fires. Secondarily, the platform will be used to collect data for multiple research groups including: ash samples for rare earth element analysis, visual/spatial/thermal data for imaging applications, gas concentration data, hydrological samples for extremophile researchers, and data for combustion researchers.
