The objective of this project was to conduct research related to the effect of white-tailed deer herbivory on plant communities on the Lacawac Sanctuary in Wayne County, Pennsylvania by constructing and installing fenced exclosuers to exclude deer and subsequently monitoring the recovery of the plant communities thus protected. In this report, I provide a summary of the data collected in the forest habitats at Lacawac Sanctuary during the 1994 season, and an account of the construction of the fenced exclosures during the fall of 1994.
