In order for current and future conservation leaders in Pennsylvania to effectively prevent and manage invasive species, an understanding of the problems' complexities needs to occur and be taught through innovative means. Through BioBullies, partners have developed an upper elementary and middle school invasive species supplement for use in classrooms, and have ensured that individual components of the supplement can stand-alone and be obtained for use by non-formal educators and to teach public sector audiences in a variety of settings. Methods were guided by a professional advisory group and included the development of the supplement, compilation of complementary materials, incorporation of evaluation mechanisms, and field-testing in Pennsylvania schools across multiple types of locations and settings.
