2011 Rare Plant Inventory and Stewardship in Northwestern Pennsylvania
Stewardship Projects or Invasive Plant Monitoring efforts were conducted at 13 high-priority sites: Edinboro Lake Fen, Bog Candle Fen/PA State Game Land 122 Fen in Crawford County, eight different sites at Presque Isle State Park in Erie County, Pymatuning Swamp, Erie Bluffs State Park and Tamarack Swamp Fen. Rare Plant populations and rare plant communities at all 13 stewardship sites are threatened by populations of non-native, invasive plants. High quality natural areas and rare natural areas at all stewardship sites cannot be sustained without multiple-year monitoring and management.
